RE: WOODROW WILSON DISSERTATION FELLOWSHIPS IN WOMEN'S STUDIES

The Woodrow Wilson Dissertation Fellowship in Women's Studies is for
doctoral students in any major at graduate schools in the United States who
are engaged in original and significant research about women that crosses
disciplinary, regional or cultural boundaries. It awards $3,000 for
expenses connected with the completion of a dissertation (including, but not
limited to, books, computer services, microfilming, taping and travel).

Applicants must be doctoral students who have completed all pre-dissertation
requirements, including approval of dissertation proposal, and expect to
complete their dissertations by the summer of 2007.

Applications must be filed online. Required supporting documents include an
abstract, dissertation proposal, graduate school transcripts, selected
bibliography, statement of commitment to women's studies, two recommendation
letters and a timetable for completion. The application deadline is Monday,
10 October 2005. Selected fellows will be announced in January 2006.

Applications will be judged on originality and significance to women's
studies, scholarly validity, applicant's academic preparation and ability to
accomplish the work, and whether the dissertation will be completed within a
reasonable time period. Collaborative work is not eligible.
