The School of Teaching and Learning, the AT Teaching Center, and the
Graduate School are happy to announce that in addition to the usual TA
workshops on technology in the classroom there are 3 new courses leading to
a Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning. The 3-credit courses are
modular and each is designed to be completed in eight weeks. You may
complete all three courses in one semester or over multiple semesters.

The first course, EME5403: Instructional Computing I, will focus on how to
use educational technologies in teaching and learning. The second course,
EME6458: Distance Teaching and Learning, examines how distance teaching,
learning, and other confounding variables intersect with each other. The
final course, EME6931: Developing and Delivering Online Content, helps
students create content that can be implemented in an online or blended
course, whether that course be a current UF course or a future course at
their next institution.

The online courses stand on their own; however, TAs who would like more face
to face instruction (and TAs who are not interested in enrolling in a credit
course) are invited to attend the workshops offered free of charge by
Academic Technology.

You may register for these three courses through ISIS (all three are
available for Spring 05). For additional information, see
http://www.coe.ufl.edu/online/edtech/ (for course information) or
http://teachingcenter.ufl.edu and select Resources for TAs (for workshop
info) or email me at [log in to unmask] You may also email Dr. Ferdig at:
