We've used TutorTrac for three years now (I think) and love it. They
have many standard reports that the database part of TutorTrac can
easily run.
The question then becomes, as Vicki asked, how to report it
"so that the data is meaningful, relevant,
and helpful to us and to the wider university community."
That depends on your audience--who you're trying to convince, and of what. That's a whole 'nother question, IMHO.
But at least TutorTrac gets the data right, and makes it easy to crunch. It has helped us make our tutors and the profs they serve understand the value of tutoring. All that on top of being a web-based scheduling system, which would make it worthwhile even without the database.
Our latest achievement is that we got our IT department to put the login for TutorTrac on the main WWW page, right there with Blackboard and the offsite email reader thingy, Pipeline. Tutors rate!
