Postdoctoral Research Officer or Research Assistantship in Complex Agent-Based Dynamic Networks
An EU-funded research project on Measuring and Modelling Complex Networks across Domains (MMCOMNET) started on 1 February 2005 and ends on 31 January 2008. MMCOMNET is in collaboration with a number of Departments in the University of Oxford, as well as colleagues in France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Poland. The Research Assistant will contribute to Work Package 4 (High-tech innovation networks) and Work Package 6 (Statistical network metrics) through the analysis of social network data that link individuals, firms, and technologies, partly derived from a large database on the Stockholm population in the 1990s. The primary responsibilities of the appointed person are to conduct statistical analyses of social network data and to prepare documents for publication. The project is jointly supervised by Prof. Peter Hedström (Sociology group, Nuffield College), Dr Felix Reed-Tsochas (SAID Business School) and Prof. Gesine Reinert (Statistics).
For a postdoctoral research officer, the appointment could be awarded either for 18 months full time, starting at £19,234 per annum, or for 36 months half time, starting at £9,671 per annum. For a pre doctoral research assistant, we envisage the appointment to be for a 0.5 post. The starting salary then will be up to £7,870 in year 1, £8,465 in year 2, and £9,029 in year 3. In addition, where appropriate, a bursary will be provided to cover university and college fees. Further particulars may be obtained at:
Applications should be sent to Nuffield College, Human Resource Department, New Road, Oxford, OX1 1NF, and should include a curriculum vitae and the names and addresses of two referees.
Please quote RO1 in all correspondence.
The closing date for applications is 9 June 2005.
Oxford University and Nuffield College are Equal Opportunity Employers.
