While it is great to learn about a forthcoming special issue on digital
meets social networks, this sentence from the Call for Papers is WRONG.
"Yet, research on the interplay between digital and social networks
remains in its infancy."
A fair number of us have been doing this for 15 years or so.
Whenever I see a statement such "in its infancy", I always translate it to
mean that the author has not become aware of the work already done. I
caution my students about such assertions, altho I confess that I have
made them myself at times.
