Park,
University of Florida, 2610 SW 23rd Terrace, Gainesville, FL
Why: Tour local homes and businesses and learn first-hand how
people are
lowering their electric utility costs and enjoying more
comfortable,
light-filled spaces while saving money and reducing pollution.
The
Gainesville tour includes homes that have basic hot water and
pool
heating systems, grid-tied electricity production (sending power
back to
the utility), and even off-grid homes that are energy self-
sufficient.
There are three homes and one building on this year.s tour, each
one
offering a different aspect on energy production and
conservation.
Its FREE and open to public.
