Applications of Social Network Analysis to the Prevention of Substance
Use & Delinquency

November 11, 2005, Pennsylvania State University

This 1-day conference will focus on theories of peer influence processes,
methods for identifying and modeling change in peer networks, and the
application of these methods to substance use and delinquency prevention
research. Speakers (see below) represent diverse theoretical, methodological
and analytic traditions (e.g., developmental, clinical and social psychology;
sociology, criminology and public health; social network analysis methodology).
Conference presentations and discussions will aim to encourage integration
across research traditions and to identify innovative strategies for applying
social network analysis to substance use and delinquency prevention research.
