This Friday the Environmental Engineering Sciences Colloquium will have an
address by Dr. Anil Rajvanshi, director of the Nimbkar Agricultural Research
Institute, in Maharashtra, India. The Colloquium will be held at 3 pm in

Abstract
Dr. Anil K Rajvanshi, the Director of Nimbkar Agricultural Research
Institute (NARI), India will talk about the issues of sustainability,
development and technology pertaining to rural areas of the world. Dr.
Rajvanshi, who runs NARI, a rural based NGO in India is an alumni of UF and
will talk about the technological developments done by his Institute in the
areas of renewable energy and holistic development. He will discuss about
the issues of cooking, lighting, power generation and sustainable transport
in rural areas. NARI has been doing commendable work for the last 25 years
in the areas of R&D for rural development in India and this will be
highlighted in this seminar.
