The Bioenergy and Sustainable Technology Society's speaker this week will
be Dr. Wayne Smith, Professor and Director Emeritus of the School of Forest
Resources and Conservation. Dr. Smith's career in forestry at UF spans 40
years during which time he has also served as director of the Center for
Biomass Programs, the Center for Environmental and Natural Resources
Program, and the Energy Extension Service. Dr. Smith is a recipient of the
U.S. Department of Energy's Award of Excellence in Energy Efficiency and
Renewable Energy Programs. This Tuesday Dr. Smith will be discussing the
problems and opportunities woody biomass presents for energy generation.
