Hi, Corey,
Carter Butts has a very good paper that is very relevant in the journal
Social Networks titled "Exact Bounds for Degree Centralization." The
paper is #6 in the section titled "Articles in Press."
Carter shows Freeman centralization to be a function of network size,
density, and maximum degree.
I have found the work by Newman and Watts to be useful for thinking
about issues of clustering.
Best wishes,
Michael

I am looking for literature that discusses the possible relationship
among
clustering, network density and centralization (any measure of
centralization). Work which provides empirical correlations among these
variables would also be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
