RE: TRANSLATORS DAY GUEST LECTURE

In observance of Translators Day, the UF Translation Studies Program and
American Translators Association's Florida chapter are cosponsoring a guest
lecture, "Walking a Mile in a Translator's Shoes: Some Tricks of the Trade
for the World's Most Important Profession" by Kirk Anderson, from 2:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 30 September 2006 in Room 346 of the J. Wayne
Reitz Union on the UF campus in Gainesville, Florida.

Kirk Anderson is an official speaker of the American Translators Association
(ATA) and an certified ATA Spanish-French-English certified translator. He
has published translations of over 50 writers from more than 20 different
countries. He also teaches Translation of Journalism and Advertising at
Florida International University.

Translators Day is a worldwide opportunity to educate the public about the
importance of the translating profession. Join the UF Translation Studies
Program in learning important practical skills to operate a successful
freelance translation business and to compete effectively in the growing
translation marketplace with a UF translator certificate.

This event follows the ATA Certification Examination. Registration is free
for UF Translation Studies Certificate Program, $15 for other students and
$30 for the general public. For registration and more information, e-mail
Rutecleia Zarin at [log in to unmask]

Thank you.
