1.  REGISTRAR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

SUMMER B & FALL 2006 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT CONTINUES, access both 
from ISIS at: http://www.isis.ufl.edu

June 23: Last day for Summer A classes

June 26: Final grades for summer A are available on ISIS in the evening

June 30: Summer B Regular Registration by 5:00pm, $100 late Registration fee after 5:00pm

July 3: Summer B Classes Begin

July 3 & July 5: Summer B Drop/Add

July 5 (11:59pm): Last Day to Drop for Summer B without Fee Liability


ENHANCING THE UNDERGRADUATE EXPERIENCE

2.  RESEARCH: InvestiGators Research Positions Available:
The InvestiGators is an undergraduate research organization.  There are 
currently non-paid research positions OPEN with the InvestiGators dealing 
primarily with nutrition and metabolism.  The InvestiGators is comprised 
of students from various disciplines and is under the direction of Dr. 
Peggy Borum, PhD. Membership in the InvestiGators offers the unique 
opportunity to meet with Dr. Borum regularly.  The InvestiGators is made 
up of three teams: the Carnitine Team (Piglet surgeries, carnitine 
research relating to metabolism), the KetoGator Team (pediatric epilepsy 
research) and the Gator Team (pediatric HIV research). For more

3.  LEADERSHIP: ACCENT Accepting Applications for Staff Positions:
ACCENT Speaker's Bureau, the largest student-run speaker's bureau in the 
nation, is currently accepting applications for the 2006 summer staff. 
Applications are available in Student Government located on the 3rd floor 
of the Reitz Union or downloadable from the SG website (www.sg.ufl.edu) 
and the ACCENT Website (www.sg.ufl.edu/accent).  Applications are due 
Thursday, July 6th by 5pm.  Please contact ACCENT at [log in to unmask] 
with any related questions.

4.  OPPORTUNITY: Career Resource Center Career Counseling:
Having trouble choosing a major?  Unsure about potential career paths? 
WE CAN HELP!  The Career Resource Center has a staff of professional 
career counselors to help you with your decision-making.  If you are 
trying to decide on a major, choose a career, or figure out what you can 
do with your major, please stop by and ask to speak with a career 
counselor.  Summer is a great time to avoid long lines and receive quick 
service.  Don't wait till fall semester!  Visit us during our summer

EVENTS

5.  EVENT: "An Inconvenient Truth" Event:
The Civic Media Center (www.civicmediacenter.org) is working with the 
Sierra Club and student environmental groups to host a mass viewing of the 
film "An Inconvenient Truth."  The film is a documentary on the 
consequences of global warming and will be followed by dinner and 
discussion at Outback Steakhouse. We have reserved a room at the 
restaurant with an open-mic for people to speak and debate about the film.

When: This Friday June 23 @ 7:05pm
Where: Regal Cinemas at Butler Plaza (Dinner and discussion at the Outback 
on Archer Rd. immediately following the film)

6.  EVENT: Comedy Event with Brandon Siler:
Ever seen the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or Late Show with David 
Letterman? Ever seen one of them live?  In Gainesville?  I think not. 
We're bringing Gainesville's live late night variety talk show back to you 
this Friday June 23rd, at 11pm at the Civic Media Center.  Late Night is 
hosted by UF's Theatre Strike Force and Norsemen improv member Zach 
Huddleston.

Guests for June 23rd: UF's very own Linebacker BRANDON SILER and 
Performance Artist Sheila Bishop (www.crookedletter.com) with Musical 
Guest Charlie and Chris of "The Most" (www.mostified.com)

The Civic Media Center is located on University Avenue between 10th Street 
and 12th Street, next to the Shamrock (www.civicmediacenter.org).  Two 
dollar donation to the Civic Media Center requested.
