The presentation is entitled, "Reducing Methane Emissions from
Livestock Waste for Energy Production and Pollution Control
A Global Perspective". The discusison will cover waste management
specifically anaerobic digestion from environmental, technical,
economic, energy, and human health perspectives with a fcous on real
systems from around the world.
Bio: Kurt has been working in the area of bio and renewable energy for
about 20 years. His expereince includes 5 years Peace Corps in
Philippines with 1 year USAID. He has been managing a domestic digester
education and extension program (AgSTAR) for the US EPA over the past 15
years. This program is now working in an International capacity with
the Methane to Markets Partnership progam and World Bank. Countries of
significant activity include China, Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, and
Argentina.
He has authored many papers over the years and has a B.A. from Stony
Brook University and a M.S. in Energy Managment and Policy form the
University of Pennsylvania.
