I wonder if there is new work going on about how internal and
external social relationships affect economic development in a region.
This could include networks of education, business development,
financial institutions, lawyers and others who promote and support new
business development (and of course the new businesses themselves). I
have been looking at Porter style cluster analysis, and it looks like
they count the resources and figure out the mix, but do not get much
into the details of the interaction. I am sure there is a lot going on
that is has not yet or has very recently been published.
