Dear David,
What is the status of your Web Project on Social Network Survey Protocols? I
missed the original Oct 2005 announcement (below) but recently was alerted
to it by a colleague.
I have developed a couple network survey templates that are "open source"
SurveyMonkey instruments. They reside in public-password accounts so that
anyone can copy them into their own SurveyMonkey accounts and modify them
for their own purposes.
One template was co-developed with the Leadership Learning Community as a
community development instrument and is accessible from here
http://leadernetwork.pbwiki.com/
Another template is more business oriented. Copy and paste this into your
browser to see it:

-for.html
The above link includes references to related work by Rob Cross and
(independently by) Miguel Lobo
Again, David, I would love to hear more about your progress on this.
Best regards,
Bruce

Web Project on Social Network Survey Protocols.
David Tindall and Todd Malinick in the Department of Anthropology and
Sociology at the University of British Columbia are developing a
website on survey instruments for collecting social network
data. There has been quite a lot published on social network
measures, and methods of statistical analysis. Further, various
social network data sets are publicly available. However, there is a
relative dearth of information about social network survey
instruments that is publically available to researchers and
students. We are compiling social network survey instruments to be
posted on a publically accessible website, to be used as a resource
for researchers and students.
Please send us your questionnaires and/or interview schedules
(preferably in MS Word format, Wordperfect, or PDF format), along
with a brief description of what the pertinent items measure. Please
provide any references to publications that were produced from
research associated with your instrument. Please provide your name,
contact information, and institutional affiliation. You will be
fully cited on the webpage. Your participation will be greatly
appreciated, and will be a valuable contribution to social network
researchers and students.
Please send these items and/or inquire for further information to:
