"Gills Onions" a fourth generation farm, is installing two
250-kilowatt (kW) Direct FuelCell units that are expected to be
operational in mid-2007. The two Direct FuelCell 300 MA power
plants from FuelCell Energy will use the renewable biogas created
from onion peel waste products to generate electricity, while
lowering waste disposal expenses and energy costs.
