The Department of Sociology, University of Toronto at Mississauga,
invites
applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment at the Assistant
Professor level with primary interests in survey research, starting July
1, 2007. Secondary interests are open. A Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely
cognate field is required. Candidates must have an excellent research and
teaching record.
The appointment is at the University of Toronto at Mississauga (UTM),
which is a research-intensive institution having an interdisciplinary
commitment, a multicultural student body, and a modern and spacious
campus. The University of Toronto offers the opportunity to conduct
research, teach and live in one of the most diverse cities in the world.
The University also offers opportunities to work in a range of
collaborative programs and centres of research. The Hitachi Survey
Research Centre (HSRC), which is associated with the department of
sociology provides assistance with and access to a wide range of research
services. The Centre has two primary facilities: an instructional
computer lab and a computer assisted telephone interview lab equipped
with
the latest software presently available.
Successful candidates will be members of the Graduate Department of
Sociology, University of Toronto and will be expected to develop an
independently funded program of research and teach in the graduate
program
on the downtown campus as well as in the undergraduate program in
