RE:        GRADUATE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FROM UF EUROPEAN STUDIES


The UF Center for European Studies is interested in encouraging advanced
graduate students to develop and teach their own courses. To this end, we
are looking for up to four graduate students able to develop and teach new
Europe related courses preferably in Fall 2007 or possibly in Spring 2008.
Courses can be in any field, but should have a clear geographic and
substantive focus on contemporary or modern Europe (roughly 19th and 20th
centuries). Courses with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe and/or the
European Union are especially encouraged.

Selected students will receive a fixed stipend of $5,000 each (paid during
Summer A 2007 as OPS). Additional support for tuition waivers is not
foreseen at this point. It is the student's responsibility to insure that
they are eligible to work and receive additional salary if they are
receiving some other form of funding from either UF or an external source.

To apply interested students need to submit the following:

A one-page maximum discursive course description that outlines the topics to
be covered in the proposed course and highlights the European content as
necessary.

A current CV and a summary of their past teaching experience.

A letter from the departmental graduate advisor stipulating that the student
is eligible to teach a course and is currently on track in their graduate
program.

A letter from the departmental chair approving that the proposed course will
be cross listed with a designated special topics course in European Studies
(EUS 4930 in most cases).

One letter of recommendation from a relevant UF faculty member.

Submit all materials together to the UF Center for European Studies (3324
Turlington Hall, POB 117342) by 5:00 p.m. Monday, 26 March 2007.
