Here are Spring 2007 events for graduate students at the UF Career Resource
Center:
 
CAREER SHOWCASE
 
Tuesday, 23 January 2007 and Wednesday, 24 January 2007 
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
O'Connell Center

Day 1 is for non-technical careers and Day 2 is for technical careers. Over
300 employers are attending, looking to hire UF students. Even if your
degree is in something very specific, if you know how to speak to employers,
they will be interested in your skills. For info on how to speak to
employers as a graduate student, please attend the workshop on preparing for
Career Showcase on Thursday, 18 January 2007. For more information on Career

GRADUATE STUDENTS LEAVING THE ACADEMY:
FINDING YOUR PASSION AND GETTING A JOB OUTSIDE THE IVORY TOWER
 
So what are you going to do with your advanced degree if you do not want to
become a professor? This workshop series consists of four presentations
aimed at helping you discover what you want to do and what you can do with
your graduate degree if you do not want to go into academia.
Pre-registration is not required for any of the workshops. All workshops are
held in the Career Resource Center Classroom (CR-160), First Floor, Reitz
Union. The four workshops are:

Transforming the CV into a Resume and Preparing for Showcase 
Thursday, 18 January 2007 3:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.

Graduate Students Leaving the Academy:
Assessing Yourself and Your Options
Wednesday, 7 February 2007

Graduate Student Finding Opportunities and Networking Outside the Academy
(including a guest speaker in management consulting)
