Spring 2008
New Course Using "Second Life" - the virtual world:
Using the interactive virtual world of Second Life as a platform for rapid prototyping and collaborative investigation, the Interdisciplinary Research Seminar is open to students from across the UF campus. The class meets in the Digital Worlds Institutešs Research, Education and Visualization Environment (REVE), a 52 foot wide immersive visualization space in which students can interact in the real and virtual worlds simultaneously.
Student-proposed projects will allow interdisciplinary teams to investigate areas such as social networking, digital prototyping of ideas and invention, and real-time interaction in the 3D graphical Internet.
