A great deal of legislative sleuthing (with a little help from Eldo) has
uncovered this story from our state legislative session:
A Florida legislator proposed language that would have mandated the use
of open file formats, but the proposal was defeated in committee.
Moreover, the official analysis of the proposal is utterly confused,
mistaking open standards for FOSS (or as the analysis calls it, "open

coverage whatsoever (as far as I can tell).
