hiring a System Administrator to join our Systems Team and become the 
"Windows Server Guru" for our department.

The salary range is $16.76 to $26.34 per hour ($35,000 - $55,000 
annually), commensurate with qualifications and experience.



* Job Description:

The Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida is 
seeking a System Administrator.

The System Administrator will be part of the team that is responsible 
for maintaining secure and reliable operation of museum server resources.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Perform daily system management tasks, server life-cycle 
replacements, upgrades, security patching, backups, and infrastructure 
planning.

2. The System Administrator supports the museum Help Desk and technical 
support staff where appropriate.

3. The primary focus of the System Administrator will be services hosted 
on the Microsoft Windows platform.

4. Provide support coverage for museum services operated on Linux and 
other non-Microsoft platforms.



* Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma and three years of any combination of relevant 
experience, education and/or certification.

A criminal background check will be conducted.

A post-offer health assessment will be conducted (Required to lift and 
carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds).



* Preferred Qualifications:

The following specific technology experience is required:

- Microsoft Windows Active Directory
- Windows Server 2003

Comfort in a mixed computing environment (including Mac OS X and Linux) 
is essential.

Preferred candidates will have experience with the following:

- MS SQL Server 2005
- IIS 6
- Virtualization Technology
- Linux
