Hello BEST students,

SolarCity Gainesville is a recently formed non-profit organization  
dedicated to fostering awareness about renewable energy, climate  
change, and peak oil in our community. Attached is our first newsletter.

If you want to help us in transforming Gainesville into a sustainable  
and resource efficient community, please join us every Thursday at  
noon at Books Inc on 13th Street.

Some of our goals and hands-on projects are:

   - facilitating bulk purchase of solar panels
   - building a renewable energy demo center on a trailer
   - getting the unused 160 solar hot water panels at Shands donated
   - promoting electric bikes and charging stations for them around town
   - creating awareness about peak oil and its impact on our community

If you want to get out of the ivory tower of academia and help us  
reclaim the title of "Solar Capital of the World" for Gainesville,  
please join us Thursdays at noon.
