Thanks Brian,
I read something today in an economic investment report (which
interestingly had nothing to do with biofuels). It stated the
biggest environmental damages caused by new investments around the
world were deforestation in Indonesia and burning of the Amazon.
This is likely the effect of biofuels, because these lands are
being converted to grow sugarcane for ethanol (Amazon) and palm
oil for biodiesel (Indonesia). I'd much rather go underground and
take something that's already dead and make fuel (fossil oil)
rather than have to kill the two most life filled regions on earth
to get fuel.
