I am currently involved in a new research project focusing on social
capital and use of ICT within organizations. We plan to run a
traditional 1-mode social network study within one or more company,
using internal e-mail lists to capture the data. The NetworkGenie
program (available through a link at the INSNA site) looks very
promising, but I wonder if anyone has tested this out on larger sample.
Is this program capable of handling, say 300 or 400 informants? Or are
there other (similar) programs that are better to capture network data
using informants e-mail lists?
The important thing for us is that we can distribute the questionnaire
through e-mail and get data back in matrix format so that it can easily
be imported to Ucinet, Pajek and so on.
