Faculty Position in Political Science
The Department of Political Science at Central European University,
Budapest, would like to invite applications for a full time faculty position
open to all ranks in party politics with a special focus on quantitative
research methods. The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent in political
science and a proven record of excellence in scholarship and post-graduate
teaching experience in the areas of electoral politics, comparative politics
and methods proportional to their degree of seniority. The successful
candidate is expected to teach three courses per year, plus supervision of
MA and PhD theses. In addition, the candidate will contribute to the
curriculum development in methods at the Department of Political Science and
the School of Politics, Policy and International Relations.
The Central European University (CEU) is a graduate research-intensive
university accredited in both the US and Hungary. The language of
instruction is English, and there are no language or citizenship

Applications from candidates who are willing to make a long-term commitment
to working and living in the region are particularly welcome. The initial
appointment is for 4 years and is renewable. Salary and benefits are
dependent upon qualifications and experience. The compensation package is
subject to Hungarian taxation regulations. The university assists its
employees who are not citizens or permanent residents of Hungary to obtain
the work permit. The position is open from September 1, 2008.
