I don't really see it that way. Social network analysis is a fairly
specialized area of knowledge, tools, and methods; the community of
people that are likely to be interested in it (and to use that phrase
to describe it) is considerably smaller than the number of people that
might be involved in Facebook, or be interested in it. Comparing
these two things is sort of like comparing searches for "ballistics"
and "basketball".
(Also, people often search for things like Facebook as a "navigational
query", i.e., a convenient way of getting to the home page. It's easy
to overinterpret search volumes, and especially relative search
volumes.)
