Food leftovers could be power source in Wales

"Wales could produce 1% of its energy needs by composting 800,000
tonnes of food that people throw away every year, the Assembly
Energy production is only part of the benefits of the plan. It
also saves on energy costs of handling waste and land used to
landfill, as well as greenhouse gas emissions from the landfill.
Food waste to biogas conversion has many benefits beyond producing
a sustainable energy source. Still this can be a significant
source of renewable energy.
