I am trying to find literature to discuss the response rates required in network-level analysis (v. egocentric). I know that I've heard several presentations in which this was discussed and I recall hearing that an 80% response rate is equivalent to (.80 * .80 = .64%). How many actors can be missing (percentage) from the population and still allow for defensible analysis of the network structure and actor positions within the structure?
If you have references, this would be extremely helpful.
Thanks,
Julie
