Ray Huffaker joined the University of Florida as Professor and Chair of the Food and Resource Economics Department this Fall. Ray specializes in natural resource economics and law, and economic dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. in agricultural economics and a J.D. specializing in natural resource and environmental law both from the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on economic, ecological, and public policy issues at the interface between agriculture and the environment. His particular research in water resources focuses on agricultural water conservation, optimal control of reservoir sedimentation, and water law and policy.
