Here is an article that is on point. It is forthcoming in Social
Forces. In it we lay out a methodology for assessing diversity within
groups and examine how differing levels of diversity influence political
attitudes and behaviors.

Homophily and Elite Bias in Civic Associations
I can send a PDF of the proofs if anyone wishes.

Hello,
I have egocentric network data (as well as information on alters and
connections among alters) for my research looking at racially diverse
ties. I was wondering if anyone could point me to any studies out there
looking at outcomes of racially diverse networks in a
non-work/organizational setting.
Thank you!
