It is Nevada, you may strap on a hogleg if you wish.  'Vegas may have a
"temporary registration" ordinance for visitors who have a handgun. 
Just carry a shotgun.   He, he, he...; we'll darn sure take over Gordon
Biersch!

I doubt a rattlesnake, mountain lion, or bear will bug us in 'Vegas. 
More apt a 2-legged varmint; but that is not likely either.

One question: in your Direction No. 2, you say "You may want to stay

the left-hand side (east) of the road as you walk so that you do not
have to walk in dirt."

Is there some particular reason to avoid walking dirt, such as (1)
rattlesnakes, (2) Gila monsters, (3) Unpleasantly Drunk Persons, or
(4)
radioactive substances present?
