The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is accepting applications for its 2010 Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP) through 18 January 2010.

This program, located in Schloss Laxenburg, Austria (near Vienna), hosts a select group of graduate students (primarily doctoral) from around the world, who work closely with IIASA senior scientists on projects within IIASA three theme areas. Funding is available to cover travel to IIASA and a modest living allowance.

Applicants are to be an advanced graduate student, in a field compatible with ongoing IIASA research.

IIASA is an international institution, supported by the United States and 16 other countries, engaged in scientific research aimed at providing policy insight on issues of regional and global importance in these three theme areas:

(1) Energy and Technology: Energy, New Technologies, Dynamic Systems, Integrated Modeling Environment.

(2) Natural Resources and Environment: Land Use and Agriculture, Forestry, Evolution and Ecology, Atmospheric Pollution and Economic Development, Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

(3) Population and Society: World Population, Risk and Vulnerability, International Negotiation, Population and Climate Change, Health and Global Change Initiative.
