Funding Opportunity: Demonstration of Integrated Biorefinery
Operations

The Department of Energy recently announced modifications to its 2008
grant offering for integrated biorefineries. The original offering was
separated into two categories; pilot and demonstration scale. Initially,
DOE's offering had a fairly limited scope of feedstock that excluded
traditional food crops. The recently issued modification creates two
additional categories that remove some of the feedstock limitations.
The grant modification will allow submission by previously excluded
technologies. The modification also changed the due date from April 30,
2009 to May 29, 2009. The full modification can be found at:

Agriculture Committee Reaches Out on Climate Change

The House Agriculture Committee is seeking comments on proposals to
address global climate change. The Committee is soliciting the opinions
of more than 400 agricultural, environmental, scientific and educational
groups and other members of the public, through a print- and web-based
questionnaire. The questionnaire allows stakeholders throughout the
nation to provide the Committee with their views on the different
options being considered in Congress to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- especially as they relate to the agriculture and forestry sectors.
The questionnaire can be accessed at http://agriculture.house.gov
<http://agriculture.house.gov/> . All responses must be on topic, in
line with House rules, and include the biographical information sheet.
