Subject: 2009 Synthesis Summer Institute

The Northeast Consortium for Hydrologic Synthesis is pleased to announce their 2009 Synthesis Summer Institute being hosted at the City College of New York from June 15 to July 26, 2009. This year's Institute will address regional-scale changes to human-water interactions arising during the 19th century in the Northeast U.S.  Major themes will include the national westward expansion and the Industrial Revolution.

Graduate students and exceptional undergraduate students from the hydrologic and affiliated sciences are encouraged to apply by March 31, 2009. Students chosen to participate in the Institute will be provided a $3500 stipend and housing in the Upper West Side of New York City.
