Happy Friday BESTers,
RF Brookes, a British food maker, will begin using food waste
from one of its facilities for biogas production. The anerobic
digester will be fed 10,000 tons per year and produce 300 kW of
electrical power and 400 kW for hot water. It will offset about
10% of the factory's power. This project shows a great example of
the integration of food production and food waste digestion in an
industrial setting. It's important to remember food waste is
generated before it even gets on our plates.
