We are still in our infancy (we have used this for a couple months), but we use it to advertise for tutors, let students know about workshops, and even link to our webpage.
If you are like me, you are thinking.."Isn't all that ON your webpage?" Sure it is. But students are coming in, telling us about our Facebook page, and telling us they didn't know we offered this or that, even though they have been here for semesters, it is posted online and various places in the lab.
Also, our web site has restrictions and processes to get updated. We just do the Facebook page in-house. All in all, I think it has been a successful venture.
