RE: OCTOBER 23 RESEARCH SHOWCASE: UFSSS 6TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES
The UF Florida Society of the Social Sciences is holding its 6th Annual Conference of the Social Sciences, "Intersections of Social Life," this Saturday, October 23, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Matherly Hall on the UF campus.
In addition to poster and paper sessions featuring student research, Dr. Ron Simons, Distinguished Research Professor of Sociology and leading researcher on how the intersections of social life influence the development of child and adolescent deviant behavior, will give the keynote address: "Unfair Treatment, Plasticity Genes, and Aggression: The Importance of Gene-Environment Interplay in the Social Sciences."
This is an interdisciplinary conference that provides graduate and undergraduate students from diverse fields of the social sciences the opportunity to showcase their research in a collegial environment and to network with other social science students/researchers on campus.
