The CISE department is looking for a new webmaster. All levels of 
experience will be considered, but knowledge of a *NIX environment is an 
absolute must. If you're interested, or know someone that might be

This IT Specialist position is located in the Computer and Information 
Science and Engineering (CISE) Department and is responsible for 
performing software engineering and systems administration tasks in 
support of the CISE web site and web-based applications.

Job duties include:

1. Work with faculty and staff of the Department to update and enhance 
current web sites and determine requirements and needs for new web 
applications and modifications of existing applications.

2. Design, develop, program, test and implement new database driven web 
sites and applications based upon end-user specifications. Monitor web 
site usage and applications, review and analyze operational problems and 
develop new processes to improve functionality.

3. Maintain and monitor existing web applications written in PHP and 
Perl, including additional programming for changes to accommodate CISE 
business needs. Proficiency with LAMP Stack a plus.

4. Develop technical documentation and end-user guides to ensure 
effective implementation, operation and evaluation of automated or 
manual systems.

5. Monitor logs and develop test suites to ensure security of website 
and applications. Follow all University standards and guidelines 
regarding the creation of secure applications.

6. Create and maintain Postgres and MySQL databases in support of web 
based applications.

7. Perform miscellaneous systems administration duties such as account 
maintenance, restarting services, and rebooting systems and web servers.
