As states, counties, and municipalities set forth optimistic
recycling goals, the question on everyone's mind is how to meet
these goals. Traditional recycling (glass, plastic, metal, etc.)
has grown substantially over the last few decades. The new
frontier is now food waste and organics recycling. This article
out of Britain shows that food waste recycling has shown a greater
increase than other recycling rates, and contributes most to
increases in overall recycling rates. This is important to
consider as Florida deals with recycling rates to reach its 75%
goal.
