Hello all- I am working on a chapter discussing social networks of
narcissistic individuals. For example, do individuals with narcissistic
tendencies have more or fewer connections, do they tend to occupy
certain locations within a network, do they overestimate the number and
strength of their ties to others, etc. I've found a fair amount of
literature regarding narcissism in online social networks like Facebook,
but much of this focuses on how people present themselves, rather than
the characteristics of their networks.
If you have written, or know of, any work in this area, I would greatly
appreciate hearing about it. I am interested in narcissism per se, as
well as related topics such as self-enhancement biases, egotism, or
self-esteem, as relates to social networks. I will, of course, summarize
the responses and report back to the listserve.
Many thanks for any help you can provide,
