You might try the SNA tool Commetrix (www.commetrix.de). It is providing an
event-driven dynamic network data model that enables you to store time
stamps of relational events plus other actor and link related variables. You
can visualize the network evolution over time and measure typical network
metrics such as centralities, density etc. Some example movies of previous
research projects are available at the website. One study, IRIS, had also
about 1500 nodes.
