BEST,
Here is an article concerning the construction of Europe's first
waste to bioethanol plant under the supervision of the world's
third largest chemical company Ineos Bio. In terms of potential,
"each year the plant would convert 100,000 tonnes of
biodegradeable household and commercial waste into 24,000 tonnes
of road transport fuel and more than 3MW of electricity, enough to
supply 250,000 vehicles and 6,000 households". However there are
some economic and policy issues that need to be considered if this
plant will be finished by the proposed year of 2012. -Kaitlyn
