"Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program"
The National Academies

This fellowship is open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in behavioral science, biological science, business, engineering, health, law, medicine, physical science, public administration, social science over the past five years. Fellows develop basic skills in the analytical process that builds US science and technology policy at the federal, state or local levels. The 2011 program takes place in Washington DC in two sessions: Winter/Spring (January 24 to April 15) and Fall (August 29 to November 18). The fellowship provides a stipend grant award of $8,240 for the 12-week sessions. This program is open to US citizens and non-citizens who are currently enrolled at a US university and have valid J1 or F1 status.

"Nonproliferation Graduate Fellowship Program"
National Nuclear Security Administration

This fellowship is open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in chemical sciences, economics, international affairs, nuclear engineering, nuclear science, physics and political science. Fellows work within the National Nuclear Security Administration's Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation on programs to detect, prevent and reverse the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, full-time for 12 months, in Washington DC. The fellowship provides an annual salary of $49,000 ($59,000 for postdoctoral scholars). This program is open to US citizens who qualify for high-level security clearance by the government.

"SMART (Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation) Scholarships"
US Department of Defense

This scholarship is open to graduate students in various science, technology, engineering and mathematics majors. Benefits include full tuition and education-related fees, a health insurance reimbursement allowance, a book allowance and a cash award from $25,000 to $41,000, depending on prior education. Awardees must be able to participate in summer internships at Department of Defense laboratories and be willing to accept employment with the Department of Defense after graduation. This scholarship is open to US citizens only.
