1. IDEAL Fall Student Organization Fair
It's that time of the year once again!!!! IDEAL presents to you
the 2010
Fall Student Organization Fair. Registration for the Fall Student
Organization Fair is now open!!!! Please go to IDEAL's website,
http://www.union.ufl.edu/ideal/ and complete the online form for
registration on the home page. You don't want to miss out on this
great opportunity!
2. ORANGE AND BLUE GATOR BAIT TAILGATE
Good afternoon Gators!
The Orange and Blue Cabinet would like to announce the Gator Bait
Tailgate hosted by Gator Dining Services, IHRA, and the Orange and
Blue Cabinet! The event will take place on Thursday, September 2nd
from 5:30-8pm at Gator Corner Dining Center on the corner of
Stadium Road and Gale Lemerand Drive.
Gator Dining will be serving all your favorite game day treats
like Philly Cheese Steak, fried chicken, mac & cheese, and much
more, plus they will be sampling Subway party platters and Pepsi
beverages. Additionally, there will be games, give-aways, prizes,
a special guest appearance, and a DJ! Use your residential or
commuter meal plan, or $8.99 for cash customers. This event is
co-hosted by SG, IRHA and Gator Dining.
The Orange and Blue Cabinet will be tabling on-site as well if you
have any questions about what SG does or are interested in getting
involved! We will have Freshman Leadership Council Applications as
well as SG sunglasses, pens, and information about how to get
involved in Student Government.

3. MINORITY BUSINESS SOCIETY
Let's start the year off right! The Minority Business Society
(MBS) invites you to its first meeting of the school year on
Wednesday September 8th at 6:45pm in Stuzin 104. Come and meet the
e-board, learn about what this organization has to offer, and
enjoy a free meal!
MBS will also be at FALL 2010 Business Bash on September 2 from
5pm-7pm in the Reitz Grand Ballroom to answer any questions you
may have. New members from all majors are welcome!

4. 50,000 HOURS SERVICE CHALLENGE
Dear Student Leaders,
Service Ambassadors are seeking student organizations hosting
service events this upcoming year to include their projects/events
in this year???s 50,000 hour Service Challenge. We would love to
feature your organization's service project/s in this monumental
event. Please review the attached request letter for further
information on the Service Challenge. All requests for service

5. SOULFEST
You are receiving this e-mail because the Soulfest team is
encouraging you to audition for the show. As you may already know,
Soulfest is a multicultural extravaganza that is an event during
the UF Homecoming Celebration. Soulfest strives to embrace
cultural diversity by providing an event that includes cultural
food, a diverse organizational tabling fair and outstanding
performances from student groups.
The Soulfest team is encouraging your organization to take part of
this year???s event to raise awareness about your organization and
showcase your talents. Please visit ufhomecoming.org to fill out
an application and review the participant guidelines. Applications
are due September 3 and auditions are September 18 or September

6. SUSTAINIBILITY
If you are interested in environmental issues and passionate about
sustainable living, then come get involved with UF???s Office of
Sustainability! The Office is currently looking for volunteers to
help run the Sustainability Hut, a moveable education tool that
aims to educate the university???s campus on sustainability. The
Office needs engaging and interactive volunteers to help make this
outreach program successful! A number of informational and
training sessions will be held in Tigert 202 on Tuesday September
7th from 12:50 pm-5 pm and Wednesday September 8th from 12:50 pm-4
pm. Students who are interested must pick one session to attend
on either day. There are four sessions on Tuesday and three
sessions on Wednesdays- each session begins at the UF class period
for that hour (12:50 pm, 1:55 pm, 3 pm, etc.). Email Michele

7. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
It's the day we've all been waiting for! Habitat's first meeting
of the semester has finally arrived!!!! Get ready to hear what's
in store for the semester and the year :)

8. HOMECOMING AND GATOR GROWL
Homecoming and Gator Growl Staff applications are now available in
the Florida Blue Key office located in room 365 of the Reitz and
online at www.ufhomecoming.org or www.gatorgrowl.org. Applications
are due back to the Blue Key office on Wednesday, September 8 by
4:00 pm. Please inform as many freshmen as possible to ensure
successful events this year.

9. WELLNESS CENTER
The Counseling and Wellness Center is celebrating their Grand
Opening September 8th through September 10th. We will be hosting
The Counseling and Wellness Center Live Optimally Fair on
Wednesday, September 8th at the Reitz Union North Lawn from
11:00am- 1:00pm. There will be games, free yoga classes,
refreshments, an ?????????Ask a Counselor????????? Booth,
giveaways and other fun activities. To find out more information,

10. UF ENCORE
Attention Leaders of Arts Organizations:

arts-centric student organizations Wednesday, September 8 at the
Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. We invite leaders from
groups focused in music, theater, dance or entertainment to attend
this interactive meeting to discuss student recruitment and best
practices.

Encore, formally known as Students for the Performing Arts, is
dedicated to engaging and empowering the artistically inclined.
Encore meets monthly to discuss artistic happenings in the
community, develops large-scale events infused with meaningful
artistic content, supports nonprofit organizations through
volunteer and partnership efforts, and serves smaller student arts
groups as a collective resource for voicing concerns, fund raising
and booking performances.
11. YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE
Good Afternoon Gators,
My name is Jenni Skinner and I am the Young Leaders Conference
(YLC) Executive Director for the 2010-2011 school year.
I have been working on the conference plans all summer and am
ready and excited to finally get the YLC team assembled!
YLC is a three-day leadership conference, held at the University
of Florida, for 250 high school students on January 28-30, 2011.
The conference involves team building activities, workshops, key
note speakers and much, much more.
If you are interested in helping plan this unique conference,
applications for Directors and Assistant Directors can be found in
the Student Government office, located on the 3rd floor of the
Reitz Union. Completed applications are due this Friday,
September 3rd at 2pm. Make sure to sign-up for an interview time
when turning in your application to the YLC office, room 306 in
SG.

12. GATOR GREEN TEAM
The TailGator Recycling Program is a volunteer oriented program
that works every home football game to provide recycling services
to on campus and off campus tailgates! We roll up our sleeves, put
on some gloves and enjoy the hours before the game visiting
high-traffic tailgating areas to promote recycling.
The fun begins this week, Saturday, with shifts on both 9/4 and
9/11 from 9-11am and 11am-1pm.
You can earn a Green Team t-shirt (they're all the rage!), some
money back for your organization, and the chance to know you're
helping keep the campus and the community beautiful. You'll also
get your 30 second "How to Recycle" spiel down pat, making you a
hit on the cocktail party circuit.
