Post Doc Position in Sociology - Egocentric networks and life chances
Job Description
The Department of Sociology at Stockholm University seeks to employ a post doc for the ERC-funded project Individual Life Chances in Social Context – A Longitudinal Multi-Methods Perspective on Social Constraints and Opportunities. The project is focused on analysing a unique dataset, combining survey data and register data, to study social network and contextual effects (neighbourhoods and schools) on individual life chances. The project aims to study the extent to which social networks and social capital over time influence young adults’ life chances pertaining to health, labour market, and education.
Qualifications
The applicant should have a recent PhD degree in a relevant area, very strong skills in quantitative data analysis, and an interest in analyzing egocentric social networks. The working language is English.
Terms of employment
Two-year post doc position. Envisioned starting date is April 1, 2011 (although this can be negotiated).
