Course: ALS 6046 Grant Writing for Master's and Doctoral Students

Section Number: 0218

Overview: Introduction to basic skills, principles and techniques of successful grant-writing for graduate students in any field.

Prerequisites: Being a master's or doctoral student who has already started his/her research.

Description: Developing effective grant writing skills are essential to acquire competitive funding from government agencies and private foundations.

                 This course will provide students with the background necessary to develop a competitive funding proposal:

                 Strategies for developing a proposal
                 How to identify potential funding sources
                 Collaborations for grant-seeking
                 The grant review process
                 Writing cover letters
                 Preparing a curriculum vitae
                 The job interview process

Credits: 2

Time: Fridays, Periods 3-4 (9:35 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

Location: CSE A101 (Room A101 Computer Science and Engineering Building)
