RE: NRC Associateship Programs Now Accepting Applications
The NRC Associateship Programs are now accepting applications.
The NRC (National Research Council) administers competitive graduate, postdoctoral and senior research awareds for 26 U.S. federal research agencies and affiliated institutions at over 100 locations in America and abroad.
Awardees get to conduct independent research in areas compatible with the interests of sponsoring laboratories; devote full-time effort to research and publication; access excellent and often unique facilities at federal research enterprises; and collaborate with leading scientists and engineers.
Awards are available for scientists and engineers at all stages of their careers. Applicants should have, or anticipate receiving, an earned doctorate in science or engineering from a U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution. Many awards are open to foreign nationals as well as to U.S. citizens.
Stipends run from $42,000 to $75,000 for recent graduates and are proportionally higher for senior associates. Graduate entry level stipends begin at $30,000 and are higher for additional experience. The NRC also provides health insurance, relocation benefits and a travel allowance. Host laboratories provide research facilities, equipment and supply funding.
