The Teaching Center's free TA Development workshop series -- see our schedule online under "TA Development" on the TC website: www.teachingcenter.ufl.edu, as well as on the green sheet from the new TA orientation packet - begins on Wednesday, August 17th with a session on "Using Media in UF's Wired Classrooms" at 9:00 a.m.
One strand of workshops focuses on improving your teaching in general , and one focuses on using technology in your teaching.
General topics include "Leading Discussions" (9/1), "Planning your Lecture" (9/8) and many others.
Technology topics include two sessions on learning UF's Sakai course management system, and using multimedia resources at UF's libraries, among others.
All sessions (except for the 8/17 session) begin at 5:00 p.m on Tuesdays or Thursdays. For more information and to register, go to www.teachingcenter.ufl.edu and click on "TA Development."
You may register for as many workshops as you like, and students who attend the required number of workshops will get a certificate indicating their completion of a series of workshops in technology, pedagogy or both.
