RE: January 15, 2011: McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Deadline
Please be reminded that the deadline for eligible students to apply for the McKnight Doctoral Fellowships is this Saturday, January 15, 2011. The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to address the underrepresentation of African-American and Hispanic faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida by increasing the pool of citizens qualified with PhD degrees to teach at the college and university levels. Last year, UF received 14 of the 40 fellowships awarded statewide. This year, we would like to exceed that total, if possible.
Funding includes a stipend of $12,000, tuition and fees for a maximum of five years. Applicants must be US citizens beginning their PhD in Fall 2011. Please forward this information to any students who may be eligible and encourage them to apply.
The application and information can be obtained from www.fefonline.org.
